Partner, Reseller, and External Sales

Partner, Reseller, and External Sales

Approved partner access, external-sale responsibilities, serial claims, and the distinction from managed checkout.

Updated 2026-10-02

Partner access is by approval

Partner and reseller relationships are scoped to the relevant developer, assigned products, credentials, and operating model. Access is not automatically available to every account, and a referral relationship is not the same as an external-order API integration.

Identify who completes the sale

A sale completed through an external reseller or another payment system is not automatically a SoundSync-managed sale. SoundSync can provide serials, customer claims, licensing, and fulfillment for an approved external integration without becoming the legal seller for that external transaction.

A referral into SoundSync-managed checkout can lead to a managed sale. An order reported after a purchase at another seller remains an external sale. The agreement determines commissions, external refund handling, reporting, and responsibility.

Serials and customer claims

Approved integrations can allocate serials or connect an external order to the customer claim and licensing path. A serial batch is not evidence that every key has been redeemed, and a device activation is not a second purchase.

Each calendar month includes 10,000 qualifying external redemptions, then $0.005 per redemption. Examples include free-product claims and reseller or other off-portal serial claims. A free BOGO gift included in a paid SoundSync checkout has no external-redemption charge. Ordinary license validation, device activation, and reactivation are not each a new external redemption merely because they call the licensing API.

Financial and customer boundaries

Partner statements and activity should be read alongside the approved relationship terms. Partners do not receive unrestricted platform-wide customer information or authority over unrelated developers' products. An external refund must reconcile the related access without affecting unrelated purchases.

WooCommerce authorization and filtering

WooCommerce connection grants store-level read/write provider access and webhooks can contain whole orders. SoundSync filters fulfillment to approved relevant product lines; that filtering does not reduce the permission granted at WooCommerce. Review the dedicated guide before connecting a store.

Affiliate and collaborator shares

Affiliate and collaborator programs are being introduced through agreement previews. Live commission accrual and recipient payouts are not enabled. Preview acceptance does not authorize payments; live participation will require separate acceptance and verified payout details.

SoundSync, not the developer, is responsible for the planned recipient payouts on SoundSync-collected sales. Applicable SoundSync fees are deducted first, then accepted affiliate and collaborator shares and the developer remainder are kept separate. The planned schedule is the same 1st and 15th schedule and minimum 14-day hold used for developer payouts, with refund and dispute adjustments. An external reseller receipt does not fund a payout: those proceeds remain unfunded until SoundSync actually receives the money.
